Australian label Aje have joined Australia’s top fashion talent, returning to the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Australia runway to showcase their SS 13-14 collection.

Drawn from childhood nostalgia, celebrated with whimsy, ‘The Garden of Yesterday’ pulls inspiration from the yesteryears of designers Edwina Robinson and Adrian Norris; a reflective throwback to childhood memories shaped in parallel hinterlands.

A romantic haze of cherry blossom and magnolia greenery shadowed the runway created in collaboration with renowned Sydney florist Saskia Heavkes of Grandiflora.

A great artist can paint a great picture on a small canvas. Imagine what he can do with a house!

Ormandy House at Neild Avenue is the result of what Dinosaur Designs artist Stephen Ormandy can do when given one. Stephen’s signature bold colours and organic shapes fill the ceiling of the second theatrical house in the Rushcutters Bay restaurant, an ideal addition to the contemporary industrial space.

Neild Avenue’s owner, Robert Marchetti, hosted a media dinner to celebrate the collaboration and launch the evolving canvas. Guests were treated to Rob’s ‘food of the sun’ inspired menu which was served on the colourful resin homewares of Dinosaur Designs Dream collection, kindly loaned to Neild Avenue for the evening.

A big thanks to photographer Felix Forrest for the images of Neild Avenue.

Sydney’s Italian community came together last month to celebrate the launch of Stefano Manfredi’s two new blends of coffee under his label Espresso di Manfredi.

Audacia (a bold blend) and Chiaro (delicate) were added to the original blend Classico, along with beautifully redesigned packaging and a range of Ceramica di Manfredi.

Osteria Balla played host to an evening of jazz, coffee and of course, coffee-inspired desserts! Shoe designer Terry Biviano hosted a Q&A with Stefano and business partner’s Julie Manfredi Hughes and leading coffee roaster Wayne Archer (of D.E Master Blenders) who gave us insight into the development of the new blends. This unique collaboration originated in 2000 and continues to stay strong 13 years on.
