Celebrating the culture of chefs foraging and growing their own produce, The Mint Partners and Tower Estate invited a group of media to the Hunter Valley to discover Tower Estate’s Executive Chef George Francisco’s new passion; his self-producing market garden which both drives the Roberts Restaurant menu and adds to the self sufficiency of the property.
The garden plays host to a throng of chickens who fertilise the soil as they parade up and down the garden, supplying eggs daily to those lodging at Tower and dining in for breakfast.
Guests arrived to a spectacular warm winters day with a horse and carriage waiting to transfer them to Robert’s Restaurant where George and Elisa hosted a tour of the market gardens.
A three course lunch of George’s amazing produce was served in Robert’s Restaurant served alongside 2011 vintage Tower Wines. After a tour of the property, guests savoured the warmth of the fire in Tower Lodge before residing to the luxurious suites for the evening.
Tower Estate is one of Australia’s most exclusive luxury lodges and premier vineyards in the Hunter Valley.
